摘要 Thedrapingbehavioroffabricissimulatedbyusingfournodequadrilateralthinplateelementswithfiniterotation.Thefiniteelementformula-tionisbasedonthetotalLagrangianapproach.Anexactrepresentationoffiniterotationisintroduced.Thestrainenergyfunctionaccountingforthematerialsym-metryisobtainedbythetensorrepresentationtheory.Toavoidshearlocking,theassumedstraintechniquefortransverseshearisadopted.Theconjugategradientmethodwithaproposedlinesearchalgorithmisemployedtominimizeenergyandreachthefinalshapeoffabric.Thedrapingbehaviorofarectangularpieceoffabricoverarectangulartableissimulated.
