摘要 Time-domainanalysisisusedtopredictwaveloadingandmotionresponsesforashiptravellingataconstantspeedinregularobliquewaves.Thecombineddiffractionandradiationperturbations,causedbythesteadyforwardspeedoftheshipandhermotions,areconsideredasadistributionofnormalvelocitiesonthewettedhullsurface.Theship-hullboundaryconditionisexactlyfulfilledbyexpressingthefluidnormalvelocitiesasafiniteseriesintermsofthebodygeometryandtheincidentwavepotential.Asfarastheauthorsareaware,nosimilarworkispublishedtodate.ThenewtheoryisappliedtopredictforcesandmotionsatforwardspeedforaWigleyship-hullinheadwavesandacatamaran-ferryinobliquewaves.PredictionsarecomparedwithpublishedtheoreticalandexperimentalresultsfortheWigleyship-hull,andthecomparisonisgood.Forthecatamaran,aself-propelledmodelisbuiltandtestedinthelargetowingtankandseakeepingbasinoftheChinaShipScientificResearchCentre,Wuxi
