ANALYSIS OF THE LEAKY BUCKET OUTPUT PROCESSES FOR BURSTY SOURCES IN ATM NETWORKS-中国期刊网

摘要 InATMnetworks,burstysourcescanbedescribedastheInterruptedBernoulliProcess(IBP).Withtheuseofthethinprocesstheory,theProbabilityGeneratingFunction(PGF)oftheIBPisobtained.Aniterativealgorithm,whichcanbeusedtocalculatetheIBPprobabilitydistribution,ispresented.Theburstysource’sequivalentdescriptionisdiscussed.ItisproposedthattheleakybucketoutputprocesscanbeapproximatelydescribedastheIBP.Theaccuracyoftheanalyticalresultshasbeenlargelyvalidatedbymeansofthesimulationapproach.Moreover,howtoimproveitsaccuracyisdiscussed.Thesmoothingfunctionoftheleakybucketalgorithmisquantitativelyanalyzed.
