摘要
Theneedforwide-bandclockanddatarecovery(CDR)circuitsisdiscussed.A2Gbpsto12Gbpscontinuous-rateCDRcircuitemployingamulti-modevoltage-controloscillator(VCO),afrequencydetector,andaphasedetector(FD&PD)isdescribed.Anewautomaticfrequencybandselection(FBS)withoutexternalreferenceclockisproposedtoselecttheappropriatemodeandalsosolvetheinstabilityproblemwhenthecircuitispoweringon.Themulti-modeVCOandFD/PDcircuitswhichcanoperateatfull-rateandhalf-ratemodesfacilitateCDRwithsixoperationmodes.TheproposedCDRstructurehasbeenmodeledwithMATLABandthesimulatedresultsvalidateitsfeasibility.
