摘要
Acrucialsystemfortheoperationofhigh-speedtrainsisthepantographcatenaryinterfaceasitisthesoleresponsibletodeliverelectricalpowertothetrain.Beingthecatenaryastationarysystemwithalonglifespanitisalsolesslikelytoberedesignedandupgradedthanthepantographsthatfitthetrainvehicles.Thisletterproposesanoptimizationprocedurefortheimprovementofthecontactqualitybetweenthepantographandthecatenarysolelybasedontheredesignofthepantographheadsuspensioncharacteristics.Apantographmodelisdefinedandvalidatedagainstexperimentaldynamiccharacteristicsofexistingpantographs.Anoptimizationstrategybasedontheuseofaglobaloptimizationmethod,tofindthevicinityoftheoptimalsolution,followedbytheuseofadeterministicoptimizationalgorithm,tofinetunetheoptimalsolution,isappliedhere.Thespringstiffness,dampingcharacteristicsandbowmassarethedesignvariablesusedforthepantographoptimization.Theobjectiveoftheoptimalproblemistheminimizationofthestandarddeviationofthecontactforcehistory,whichisthemostimportantquantitytodefinethecontactquality.Thepantographheadsuspensioncharacteristicsareallowedtovarywithintechnologicalrealisticlimits.Itisfoundthatcurrenthigh-speedrailwaypantographshavealimitedpotentialformechanicalimprovements,notexceeding10%-15%onthedecreaseofthestandarddeviationofthecontactforce.
