Thediscoveryofdrawablecarbonnanotubeforestsopenedupthepossibilityofconstructingawiderangeofpurecarbonnanotubemacrostructuresandsparkedinterestsindevelopingapplicationsfromthesestructures,especiallypurecarbonnanotubeyarns.Thisreviewexaminesthevariousfacetsofthedrawablecarbonnanotubeforests,synthesisanddrawability,andtheirresultingyarns,structure,production,propertiesandapplications.Thestructure,formationandpropertiesofcarbonnanotubeyarnsarecomparedwiththoseofconventionaltextileyarnsinordertoobtainabetterunderstandingofthescience,structuralmechanicsandprocessingtechnologyinvolvedincarbonnanotubeyarns.
