Ameasurementtechniquethatcanmeasuretheconcentrationofthesolidparticlesinliquidflowwasdeveloped.ThemeasurementsystemconsistsofacolorcameraandthreeLCDdisplays.ThesolidparticleswereputatthebottomofacylindricalmixingtankinwhichJetA1oilwasfilled.Transientmixingofthesolidparticleswasperformedbyrotatingapropellertypeagitatorwiththreedifferentrotationspeed(500,600,700r/min).MixingstatewasvisualizedbytheLCDdisplaysandacolorcamcorder.Thecolorintensityoftheglassparticleschangeswiththeirconcentration.ThecolorinformationwasdecodedintothreeprinciplecolorsR,G,andBsothat,thecalibrationcurveofcolor-to-concentrationwasperformedusingtheseinformation.Aneuralnetworkwasusedforthiscalibration.Thetransientconcentrationfieldofthesolidparticleswasquantitativelyvisualized.
