Safety distance for preventing hot particle ignition of building insulation materials

摘要 Trajectoriesofflyinghotparticleswerepredictedinthiswork,andthetemperaturesduringthemovementwerealsocalculated.Oncetheparticletemperaturedecreasedtothecriticaltemperatureforahotparticletoignitebuildinginsulationmaterials,whichwaspredictedbyhot-spotignitiontheory,thedistanceparticletraveledwasdeterminedastheminimumsafetydistanceforpreventingtheignitionofbuildinginsulationmaterialsbyhotparticles.Theresultsshowedthatforspherealuminumparticleswiththesameinitialvelocitiesanddiameters,thehorizontalandverticaldistancestraveledbyparticleswithhigherinitialtemperatureswerehigher.Smallerparticlestraveledfartherwhenotherconditionswerethesame.Thecriticaltemperatureforanaluminumparticletoigniterigidpolyurethanefoamincreasedrapidlywiththedecreaseofparticlediameter.Thehorizontalandverticalsafetydistanceswerecloselyrelatedtotheinitialtemperature,diameterandinitialvelocityofparticles.Theseresultscouldhelpupdatethesafetyprovisionoffireworkdisplay.
