Origin of the serpentinites in the Lichi melange,eastem Taiwan,China:implication from petrology and geochronology-中国期刊网

摘要 Lichimelange,locatedinthesoutherncoastalrange,easternTaiwan,China,isatypicaltectonicmelangeoftheplate'sboundaryzonebetweentheEurasianPlateandthePhilippineSeaPlate.ItformedduringthecollisionoftheLuzonarcwiththeEurasianContinent(arc-continentcollision).Itiscomposedofsandstoneand/ormudstonematrixandmanykindsandsizesofrockfragments,includingsomesedimentaryrocks,volcanicrocksandafewmetamorphicrocks.TheserpentiniteisoneofthecommonfragmentsintheLichimelange.BythepetrographiccharacteristicsandthezirconU-Pbchronologyanalyses,protolithoftheserpentiniteisperidotite,theageis17.7±0.5Ma.Takingthetectonicbackgroundintoaccount,itisinferredthattheserpentinite(serpentinisedperidotite)comefromtheforearcbasin(theNorthLuzonTrough)andwastakenintothemelangebyasecondthrustwestwards.TheoriginoftheserpentimteinLichimelangeishelpfultounderstandtheformationoftheLichimelangeandcanprovidereliabledetailedinformationforthestudyofthearc-continentcollisionorogenicactivityinandoffshoreTaiwan.
