摘要
Thispaperfocusesontheissueofcollaborativespectrumsensingincognitiveultrawideband(CUWB)impulseradio.Weemployenergy-basedsignaldetectionmethodandapplytheNeyman-Pearson(NP)decisionruletodeterminetheoptimumthreshold.Twocooperativespectrumsensingschemesaredevelopedinthispaper.Thedecisionfusionschemeisbasedonharddecision,inwhicheachcooperatingcognitiveuser(CU)sendsitsownlocaldecisiontothefusioncenter(FC).TheFCthenmakesafinaldecisionaccordingtothemajorityvotingrule.Alternatively,thedatafusionschemeisbasedonsoftdecision,inwhicheachlocalCUsendsitsobservedvaluedirectlytotheFC.TheFCcombinesthesevalues,comparestoathresholdandthenmakesthefinaldecision.Theperformancesofbothschemesarestudiedbyusinganalyticaltoolsandcomputersimulations.Thereceiveroperatingcharacteristics(ROC),whichrevealtheprobabilityofdetectionversusfalse-alarmcurve,areemployedtoevaluatethesystemperformanceunderdifferentscenarios.SimulationresultsdemonstratethatthedatafusionschemeoutperformsthedecisionfusionschemeandverifythatthecollaborativespectrumsensinghaspracticalimportanceinCUWBnetworks.
