摘要 Backconversionisanintrinsicphenomenoninnonlinearfrequencydown-conversionprocesses.However,thephysicalreasonforitsoccurrenceisnotwellunderstood.Here,wetheoreticallyrevealthatbackconversionistheresultofaπ-phasejumpassociatedwiththedepletionofoneinteractingwave.Bysuppressingtheidlerphasejumpthroughadeliberatecrystalabsorption,thebackconversioncanbeinhabited,thusenhancingtheconversionefficiencyfromthepumptothesignal.TheresultspresentedinthisLetterwillfurthertheunderstandingofnonlinearparametricprocessesandpavethewaytowardthedesignofhighlyefficientdown-conversionsystems.
