摘要 Geographically,IndiaisnotacountryintheregionoftheSouthChinaSea,norisitacountryconcernedintheissueonageopoliticalleveloraUSallyintheAsia-Pacificregion.IthasbeenverycautioustoavoidtakingsidesintheSouthChinaSeaissue.However,sinceModitookofficein2014,changeshavetakenplaceintheexternalenvironmentthatIndiafaces,inmaritimesafetystrategy,aswellasinIndia'spoliciestowardtheUSandChina.IndiaisbecomingincreasinglyactiveintheissueoftheSouthChinaSea,voicingcriticismandtakingprecautionsagainstChina.WhileIndia'spolicyontheSouthChinaSeawillnotbecompletelythesameasthatoftheUnitedStatesandJapan,duetoconcernsforitsowninterestsinthefuture,itisquitepossiblethatIndiawilltakeadvantageoftheissueoftheSouthChinaSeaandwilladoptmorecomprehensivewaystogetinvolvedintheissue.
