摘要
ROOTversion3(spring2001)supportsautomaticclassschemaevolution.Inadditionthisversionalsoproducesfilesthatareself-describing.Thisisachievedbystoringineachfilearecordwiththedescriptionofallthepersistentclassesinthefile.Beingself-describingguaranteesthatafilecanalwaysbereadlater,itsstructurebrowsedandobjectsinspected.alsowhenthelibrarywiththecompiledcodeoftheseclassesismissingTheschemaevolutionmechanismsupportsthefrequentcasewhenmultipledatasetsgeneratedwithmanydifferentclassversionsmustbeanalyzedinthesamesession.ROOTsupportstheautomaticgenerationofC++codedescribingthedataobjectsinafile.
