Theregionaroundthedouble-closedshellnucleus208Pbhasbeenparticularlyusefulinstudyingresidualinteractions.ThelowspinisomersoftheisotopesintheN=127,Z=8387regionhavebeenidentifiedinlastfiftyyearsexcept213Rn[1??4].Inourrecentimplantation–r-acorrelationstudyoftheisotopesaroundtheN=126shellclosure,anewrayisobservedbetweentheimplantationsandthedecaysof213Rn,whichcouldbeduetothedepopulationoftheisomerof213Rnmentionedabove.
