Registration Based on ORB and FREAK Features for Augmented Reality Systems

摘要 Thispaperproposesanovelregistrationmethodforaugmentedreality(AR)systemsbasedonOrientedFASTandRotatedBRIEF(ORB)andFastRetinaKeypoint(FREAK)naturalfeatures.IntheproposedORBFREAKmethod,featureextractionisimplementedbasedonthecombinationofORBandFREAK,andthefeaturepointsarematchedusingHammingdistance.Togetgoodmatchingpoints,cross-checksandleastmediansquaresareusedtoperformoutlierfiltration,andcameraposeisestimatedusingthematchedpoints.Finally,ARisrendered.Experimentsshowthattheproposedmethodimprovesthespeedofregistrationtobeinrealtime;theproposedmethodcanaccuratelyregisterthetargetobjectunderthecircumstancesofpartialocclusionoftheobject;anditalsocanovercometheeffectsofrotation,scalechange,ambientlightanddistance.
