Comparison of Time Interval Statistic and Pulse Shape Discrimination in Fast Neutron Detection Method with Liquid Scintillation Detector Loaded Gd

摘要 Neutronusuallyappearswithgamma,whichisrequiringthedetectorhasthecapabilityofngammadiscrimination.Pulseshapediscrimination(PSD)isacommonapproachofn,gammajudgment,butrequiredacomplexprocesstoselectasuitablediscriminationfactor,andpoorperformanceinthelowenergyrange.AmethodbasedonthetimeintervalofadjacentSignalswasdisruptedandadoptedtocomparetopulseshapediscriminationinthefastneutrondetectionmethod.AgoodagreementbetweentheadoptedmethodandPSDmethodwasachieved,includingthetotalcountratioandneutroncountratio.Thecomparisonprovesthecorrectnessofthetheoreticalderivationandvalidatesthemethodinpractice.TheadvantagesandlimitationsofthemethodbasedontimeIntervalofadjacentsignalswereanalyzed.Themethodprovidesaneffectivewaytoconfirmthecalibrationoftheneutrondetectionofaliquidscintillationdetector.Also,asasimplewayonlyrequiringthetimeinformationaboutevents,thedescribedmethodhaslargeapplicationpotentialinsomecaseoffastneutronfluxorintensitymeasurement.
