摘要
Throughoutthe20thcentury,RomanLawwasmainlyanenigmaforhistoriansandclassicalphilologistsalike.ItspositionintheFacultiesofLawasLegalHistoryandasystematic,andsometimesevensynchronic,perspectiveofmanyresearchersonlegalsourcestogetherwithself-referentialtendenciesmadeitappearaclosedsystem,eventhoughthenestorofAltertumswissenschaften,TheodorMommsenhadonceencompassedthetriashistory,lawandphilology,albeitwithhisowntaxonomyandconnectedwithhisliberalideasthatcanbefrequentlyfoundinhisRomischeGeschichteandRomischesStaatsrecht.
