Optimal design of Er/Yb co-doped fiber amplifiers with an Yb-band fiber Bragg grating-中国期刊网

摘要 Inthispaper,Er/Ybco-dopedfiberamplifiers(EYDFAs)withanYb-bandfiberBragggrating(FBG)atthepumpendtoimprovetheperformanceoftheamplifierissystematicallystudied.TheinfluenceofthereflectivityandcenterwavelengthoftheFBGalongwiththegain-fiberlengthontheperformanceofanEYDFAarenumericallyanalyzed.TheresultsshowthatthewavelengthoftheFBGhascriticalinfluenceontheefficiencyoftheEYDFA,whereastherequirementtoitsreflectivityisrelaxed.Itisaneffectiveandpromisingwaytoimprovetheefficiencyofahigh-powerpumpedEYDFAbyintroducingasuitableYb-bandFBGatthepumpend.Basedontheanalysisoftheunderlyingprinciples,suggestionsforthepracticaldesignandpossiblefurtherimprovementstrategiesarealsoproposed.
