Gap induced mode evolution under the asymmetric structure in a plasmonic resonator system

摘要 Themodulationofresonancefeaturesinmicrocavitiesisimportanttoapplicationsinnanophotonics.Basedontheasymmetricwhispering-gallerymodes(WGMs)inaplasmonicresonator,wetheoreticallystudiedthemodeevolutioninanasymmetricWGMplasmonicsystem.Exploitingthegapornano-scatterintheplasmonicringcavity,thesymmetryofthesystemwillbebrokenandthestandingwaveinthecavitywillbetunable.Basedonthisasymmetricstructure,theoutputcouplingratebetweenthetwocavitymodescanalsobetuned.Moreover,theproposedmethodcouldfurtherbeappliedforsensinganddetectingthepositionofdefectsinaWGMsystem.
