Self-adjustment of a nonlinear lasing mode to a pumped area in a two-dimensional microcavity [Invited]

摘要 WenumericallyperformedwavedynamicalsimulationsbasedontheMaxwell–Bloch(MB)modelforaquadrupole-deformedmicrocavitylaserwithspatiallyselectivepumping.Wedemonstratetheappearanceofanasymmetriclasingmodewhosespatialpatternviolatesboththex-andy-axesmirrorsymmetriesofthecavity.Dynamicalsimulationsrevealedthatalasingmodeconsistingofaclockwiseorcounterclockwiserotating-wavecomponentisastablestationarysolutionoftheMBmodel.Fromtheresultsofapassive-cavitymodeanalysis,weinterprettheseasymmetricrotating-wavelasingmodesbythelockingoffournearlydegeneratepassive-cavitymodes.Forcomparison,wecarriedoutsimulationsforauniformpumpingcaseandfoundadifferentlockingruleforthenearlydegeneratemodes.Ourresultsdemonstrateanonlineardynamicalmechanismfortheformationofalasingmodethatadjustsitspatterntoapumpedarea.
