摘要 Wereportonthefirstmonolithicallyintegratedmicroring-basedopticalswitchintheswitch-and-selectarchitecture.Theswitchfabricdeliversstrictlynon-blockingconnectivitywhilecompletelycancelingthefirst-ordercrosstalk.The4×4switchingcircuitconsistsofeightsiliconmicroring-basedspatial(de-)multiplexersinterconnectedbyaSi/SiNdual-layercrossing-freecentralshuffle.Analysisoftheon-stateandoff-statepowertransferfunctionsrevealstheextinctionratiosofindividualringresonatorsexceeding25dB,leadingtoswitchcrosstalksuppressionofuptoover50dBintheswitch-and-selecttopology.Opticalpathsareassessed,showinglossesaslowas0.1dBperoff-resonanceringand0.5dBperon-resonancering.Photonicswitchingisactuatedwithintegratedmicro-heaterstogivean~24GHzpassband.Thefullypackageddeviceisflip-chipbondedontoaprintedcircuitboardbreakoutboardwithaUV-curvedfiberarray.
