ForethnicTibetans,topayhomagetoatleastonesacredmountainorlakebywakingrounditisareligiouspursuittheymustattainintheirlifetime,forwhichtheyarewillingtoexhaustalltheirsavings.Eventhoughapersonalreadydidsowhenstillababy-carriedbytheperson'smotheronherbackthroughoutthejourney-theperson,inninecasesoutoften,willdoitonhisorherownwhenheorshegrowsup.NotafewethnicTibetanshavemadepilgrimagestomorethanonesacredmountainorlake,believingthatholyspiritstherewillrepaytheirpiousnesswithblessings.
