Experiments of Brittle-Plastic Transition and Instability Modes of Juyongguan Granite at Different Temperatures and Pressures

摘要 Threegroupsofexperimentsonbrittle-plastictransitionandinstabilitymodesofgranitewereperformedinatriaxialvesselwithsolidpressuremediumathightemperatureandhighpressure.Theresultsofexperimentsshowthatbrittlefaultingisthemajorfailuremodeattemperature<300℃,butcrystal-plasticdeformationisdominateattemperature>800℃,andthereisatransitionwithincreasingtemperaturefromsemi-brittlefaultingtocataclnsticflowandsemi-brittleflowattemperaturesof300~800℃.So,temperatureisthemostinfluentialfactorinbrittle-plastictransitionofgraniteandconfiningpressureisthesecondfactor.Theresultsalsoshowthatprogressivefailureofgraniteoccursatlowerpressureorhightemperaturewherethereiscrystalplasticity,andsuddeninstabilityoccursatroomtemperatureandhighpressure(>300MPa)orhightemperatureandgreatpressure(550℃600MPa~650℃700MPa),andabroadregimeofquasi-suddeninstabilityexistsbetweentheT-Pconditionofprogressivefailureandsuddeninstability.So,instabilitymodesofgranitedependsimnitaneonslyonthepressureandtemperature.
