Characteristics of Paleoseismic Activity Along the TianqiaogouHuangyangchuan Fault on the Eastern Section of the Qilian Mountains

摘要 TheTianqiaogou-Huangyangchuanfaultlieseastofthemainpeak,LenglonglingMount,intheeastpartoftheQilianMountainsandisoneofthemajoractivefaultsontheeasternsectionoftheQilianMountains.ThefaultisseparatedintotwosegmentsatGuanjiataivillage,theeasternandwesternsegments,andhasundergoneobviousmovementsincetheHolocene.Sixtrencheswereexcavatedtostudythepaleoseismicactivityalongthefault.Integratedandcomparativeanalysisofsedimentsinthetrenchesreveals7paleoseismiceventsandahistoricearthquakeonthefaultsincetheHolocene.Theiragesare:eventⅠis(10743±343)aBP,eventⅡ(9038±39)aBP,eventⅢ(7050±577)aBP,eventⅣ(4847±185)aBP,eventⅤ(3562±190)aBP,eventⅥ(2476±194)aBP,andeventⅦ(1505±253),respectively,andeventⅧisthe1927GulangMs8.0earthquake.Itindicatesthatthefaultmighthavecontributedtothe1927GulangMs8.0earthquake.Thetemporalandspatialdistributionofthepaleoseismiceventsisrelativelyuniformandischaracterizedapproximatelybyaquasiperiodicrecurrence.
