摘要 MuchattentionshouldbepaidtoalargeFPSOmooredpermanentlyinanoilfieldwithwaterdepthofonlyabout20m,sinceshallowwatereffectsonthehydrodynamicsmaybringaboutcollisionanddamage.A160kDWTFPSOwithapermanentsoftyokemooringsystemisinvestigatedwithvariousshallowwaterdepthsandfocusesarethelowfrequencysurgemotionandmooringload.ComputationfortheFPSOsystemismadebasedonlinear3-Dpotentialfluidtheoryandtime-domainnumericalsimulationmethod.CorrespondingmodeltestiscarriedoutintheoceanengineeringbasinofShanghaiJiaoTongUniversity.Itisshownthat,inthesurgenaturalperiod,lowfrequencysurgemotionandmooringforceincreaseremarkablywiththedecreaseofwaterdepth.Especially,thesmallertheratioofwaterdepthanddraughtis,thequickertheincreaseis.Theshallowwatereffectsshouldbetakenintoaccountcarefullyfordeterminingthedesignloadofasinglepointmooringsystem.
