Whisker Orientation Function and Elastic Modulus of the as-cast 20%SiCw/Mg Composite-中国期刊网

摘要 Therelationshipbetweentheplane-orientationfunctionandthespace-orientationfunctionofwhiskersinwhisker-reinforcedmetalmatrixcompositeswasanalyzedtheoretically.Theactualorientationofwhiskersintheas-cast20%SiCw/Mgcomposite(SiCwcontentinvolumefraction)wereinvestigated,andtheelasticmodulusofthecompositewasmeasuredwithanultrasonicvelocityanalyzer.Resultsshowthatthereisanevidentdifferencebe-tweentheplane-orientationfunctionandthespace-orientationfunctionofwhiskersandthespace-orientationfunctioncanrepresenttheactualconditionofthecomposite.Onlybyusingthespace-orientationfunctionofwhiskers,thedifferenceofelasticmodulusoftheas-castcompositeindifferentdirectionscanbeexplainedreasonably.
