TheabundantresourcesofproverbsillustratetheirmeaningfulideasbothinChineseproverbsandEnglishproverbs,reflectingordinarylivesandregardedastheessenceofcultureinbothcountries.SoAmericancultureinheritedmanymarveloustraditionsfromEnglishproverbsandAmericanproverbsmustbeinfluencedbyEnglishproverbstoo.MypaperwillcompareChineseandAmericanculturethroughproverbs,aimingatobservingthedifferencesoftheculturevalueconceptionbetweenChineseandAmericans,andhopethatthisstudyalsocanberegardedasadatatogivereferentialmeaningtothefurtherresearchoncross-cultureandlanguagecomparison.
