摘要
Someoftheprogressmadeinourlaboratoriesincollaborationwithindustryinresearchanddevelopmentworkonhighperformanceoxide-nonoxidecompositesformetallurgicalapplicationshasbeenreviewed.(1)SiAlONbondedcorundumcompositesforblastfurnaceusagehavebeenproducedbyreduction-nitridationsinteringathightemperature,usingbauxiteinsteadofaluminainthematrix.(2)LowcarbonAl2O3-SiAlONslideplatematerialssuccessfullyusedinhighqualitysteelcontinuouscastinghavebeendevelopedinwhichmostorallofthegraphiteinAl2O3-Cbrickisreplacedbybauxite-basedβ-SiAlON.(3)Al/SimetalbondedAl2O3-Cmaterialcharacterizedbylowcarboncontent,lowfiringtemperatureandin-situformationofcarbidesandnitridesathightemperatureduringservicearefoundtopossessveryhighhotstrengthandverygoodthermalshockresistanceandhavealsobeensuccessfullyusedasslideplatesinladlesandtundishesforhighqualitysteelcasting.
