摘要 AnewmethodforconstructinginterpolatingLoopsubdivisionsurfacesispresented.ThenewmethodisanextensionoftheprogressiveinterpolationtechniqueforB-splines.GivenatriangularmeshM,theideaistoiterativelyupgradetheverticesofMtogenerateanewcontrolmeshMsuchthatlimitsurfaceofMwouldinterpolateM.ItcanbeshownthattheiterativeprocessisconvergentforLoopsubdivisionsurfaces.Hence,themethodiswell-defined.Thenewmethodhastheadvantagesofbothalocalmethodandaglobalmethod,i.e.,itcanhandlemeshesofanysizeandanytopologywhilegeneratingsmoothinterpolatingsubdivisionsurfacesthatfaithfullyresembletheshapeofthegivenmeshes.Themeshesconsideredherecanbeopenorclosed.
