ThesuccessivefoundingofELTmailinglistssincethemid-90shaveprovidedlanguageteachersworldwidewithacheap,ef-ficientandinformativeteachingtool.Thispaperoffersanintro-ductiontothemajorELTlistsandadiscussionofthesignifi-canceofthemailingliststoourteachingwork,academicre-searchandself-development.Adviceisalsogivenonhowtotakebetteradvantageofthispowerfuleducationalinstrument.
