摘要
BetweenJanuary1985andJuly1987,1,622cancerpatientswereevaluatedtooutlinethepossibleapplicationsandlimitsofvariousinvestigativetechniquesforevaluatingmetastases.Seventy-threecaseswithsuperficialmetastasesofthedermal-hypodermal(59)layers,ofthemuscles(11)andofothertargetorgans(3)wereincludedinthestudy.Althoughnon-glandularsuperficialmetastasesarearelativelyrareoccurrence,diagnosticimagingtechniquesareindicatedforevaluatingtheirextentandanatomicalconnections.Secondaryneoplasmswerestudiedusingtheimagingtechniquesofsono-graphy,computedtomographyandxeroradiography.Thediagnosticreliabilityofthesethreetechniqueswasevaluated,takingintoaccounttheirabilitytodeterminetheextentofmetastasesandofassessingmalignancy.Sonographyisconsideredasasatisfactoryscreeningtechnique,butCTisanevenbettertoolforevaluatingtheextentandanatomicalconnectionsofsuchlesions.Xeroradiographyhasbeenmadeobsoleteb
