Transmission spectra of coated phase shifted long-period fiber gratings

摘要 Thetransmissionspectrumofthecoatedphase-shiftedlong-periodfibergratings(LPFGs)withsingleandmultiplephaseshiftsisanalyzedbythecoupled-modetheoryandthetransfermatrixmethod,andtheinfluencesofthefilmparametersonthespectralcharacteristicsarealsostudied.ItisshownthattheseparameterswillaffecttheLPFGfilteringcharacteristics.Thelosspeakoftransmissionspectrumdecreaseswiththeincreaseoffilmthickness,andthepeakpositionshiftswiththefilmrefractiveindex.Comparedwiththenon-coatedphase-shiftedLPFG,thecoatedonehasthesimilardesirablefilteringcharacteristics,andithasaflexibleabilitytoadjustthetransmissionproperties.
