A new tracking error detection method using amplitude difference detection for signal waveform modulation multi-level discs

摘要 Thesub-land/sub-pitaffectsthecharacteristicofthetrackingerrorsignalwhichisgeneratedbytheconventionaldifferentialphasedetection(DPD)methodinthesignalwaveformmodulationmulti-level(SWML)read-onlydisc.Tosolvethisproblem,thispaperproposesanewtrackingerrordetectionmethodusingamplitudedifference.Basedonthediffractiontheory,theamplitudedifferenceisproportionaltothetrackingerrorandisfeasibletobeusedforobtainingtheoff-trackinformation.Theexperimentalsystemoftheamplitudedifferencedetectionmethodisdeveloped.Theexperimentalresultsshowthatthetrackingerrorsignalderivedfromthenewmethodhasbetterperformanceinuniformityandsignal-to-noiseratiothanthatderivedfromtheconventionalDPDmethodintheSWMLread-onlydisc.
