Effects of the cross-phase modulation on the propagation of femtosecond optical pulses in photonic crystal fibers

摘要 Thepropagationoftwofemtosecondpulsesintheregionwithminimumgroup-velocitydispersion,influencedbythecrossphasemodulation(XPM)inphotoniccrystalfiber(PCF),isinvestigatedinthispaper.Theadaptivesplit-stepFouriermethodisusedtosimulatethegeneralizednonlinearSchrdingerequations(GNSE).ThenumericalresultsshowthatthecombinationoftheRamanscatteringandXPMcanmakethespectrumandthepulseshapechanged,inducingthepulsecompressionandsupercontinuumgeneration.TheRamaneffectfrommolecularvibrations,whichcanmakethepulsespectruminanomalous-dispersionregiontobemoresymmetrical,isalsodiscussed.
