摘要
Anewseriesofliquidcrystalscomprisingeightheterocyclicisoflavoneesters,7-alkanoyloxy-3-[4’-(3-methylbutyloxyphenyl)]-4H-1-benzopyran-4-onesexhibitingenantiotropicnematic(N)andsmecticC(SmC)phasesweresynthesizedandinvestigated.Themesomorphicpropertiesofallderivativeswereinvestigatedbymeansofdifferentialcalorimetryandpolarizedopticalmicroscopy.WideangleX-raydiffractiontechniquewasemployedtoinvestigatethemolecularpackingassociatedwiththeintermolecularinteractionaswellasthecorrelationbetweenthethermalbehaviourofthesecompoundswiththeiranisotropypropertieswithinamesophase.
