简介：Thisstudyexaminedthefactorsassociatedwithfinancialsupportinoldagefromthreeprimarymechanisms-personalsavings,familysupport,andsocialinsurance-toexploretheimplicationsforthefuturedevelopmentofChina’sruralsocialwelfaresystem.Cross-sectionalsurveysof1392youngandmiddle-agedruralresidentswereconductedinJulyandAugust2012.Theresultsshowedthatwhilesocialinsurancewasincreasinglyacceptable,personalsavingsandfamilysupportstillhadfundamentalvalue.Combiningthethreemechanisms,theruralold-agewelfaresystempresentednontraditionalfeatures.China’snewruralendowmentinsuranceisdiscussedasameanstoaddresstheneedforfinancialsupportamongtheruralagingpopulation.
