简介：Thedevelopmentofauditorysynapsesisakeyprocessforthematurationofhearingfunction.However,itisstillondebateregardingwhetherthedevelopmentofauditorysynapsesisdominatedbyacquiredsoundstimulations.Inthisreview,wesummarizerelevantpublicationsinrecentdecadestoaddressthisissue.Mostreporteddatasuggestthatextrinsicsoundstimulationsdoaffect,butnotgovernthedevelopmentofperipheryauditorysynapses.Overall,peripheryauditorysynapsesdevelopandmatureaccordingtoitsintrinsicmechanismtobuildupthesynapticconnectionsbetweensensoryneuronsand/orinterneurons.
