  • 简介:Thispaperreportsatypicalinterventionistlearningstrategiesstudy,aimingatinvestigatingtheeffectofstrategies-basedstudyonlisteningcomprehension.Thestudytooktheformofanexperimentinwhichtwoparallelclassesofeighty-fivefirst-yearnon-Englishmajorswereassignedintoanexperimentalandacontrolgroup.Bothgroupsparticipatedinthesame18-weeklisteningprogram,theonlydifferencebeingthattheexperimentalgroupstudentsweretrainedsystematicallyinthirteenlisteningstrategies.Resultsofthisstudyrevealthataddingexplicitstrategytrainingintotheregularlisteningclassroominstructionhasproducedsignificanteffectsinareasinvestigated.First,theexperimentalgroupoutperformedthecontrolgrouponlisteningcomprehensionachievements.Second,thestrategies-basedinstructionhadmoreimpactonstudentswithaveragelisteningabilitythanstudentsaboveorbelowaverage.TheprimaryobjectiveofthisstudyistoprovideimplicationsfortheeffectiveteachingoflisteninginChinaandforthedevelopmentoflanguagelearners’learningandlanguageskills.
