  • 简介:Theaimofthispaperistodevelopamulti-periodeconomicmodeltointerprethowthepeoplebecomeoverconfidentbyabiasedlearningthatpeopletendtoattributethesuccesstotheirabilitiesandfailurestootherfactors.TheauthorssupposethattheinformedtraderdoesnotknowthedistributionoftheprecisionofhisprivatesignalandupdateshisbeliefonthedistributionoftheprecisionofhisknowledgebyBayer'srule.Theinformedtradercaneventuallyrecognizethevalueoftheprecisionofhisknowledgeafteranenoughlongtimebiasedlearning,butthevalueisoverestimatedwhichleadshimtobeoverconfident.Furthermore,basedonthedefinitionontheluckiertraderwhosucceedsthesametimesbuthasthelargervarianceoftheknowledge,theauthorsfindthattheluckiertheinformedtraderis,themoreoverconfidenthewillbe;thesmallerthebiasedlearningfactoris,themoreoverconfidenttheinformedtraderis.Theauthorsalsoobtainalinearequilibriumwhichcanexplainsomeanomaliesinfinancialmarkets,suchasthehighobservedtradingvolumeandexcessvolatility.

  • 简介:Thepurposeofthisstudywastounderstandtheeffectofimplementingmultipleintelligence(MI)-basedinstructiononthesciencelearningmotivationandlearningachievementof7thgradejuniorhighstudents.Thisquasi-experimentalresearchstudyutilizedquestionnairesandtestsofsciencelearningmotivationandlearningachievement,andexaminedcollecteddatathroughuseofthestatisticalpackageforthesocialsciences(SPSS).Ananalysisofcovariance(ANCOVA)andat-testwereperformedinordertoexplorethedifferencesbetweenthesciencelearningmotivationsandlearningachievementsoftheexperimentalgroup(N=39),whoweresubjectedtoteachingbasedonMItheory,andthecontrolgroup(N=36),whoweresubjectedtotraditionallectures.Theresultsofthestudyshowthat,afterimplementingMI-basedinstruction,thestudentsintheexperimentalgroupsignificantlyoutperformedthoseinthecontrolgroupintermsofsciencelearningmotivation,sciencelearningvalue,andactivelearningstrategies,whilethestudentswithlowlearningachievementshowinganimprovementintheirlearningattitudethatallowedthemtodevelopapositivelearningattitudetowardbiologyclassesandraisedtheirclassparticipationandpreferenceforbiologyclasses.

  • 简介:Objective:Toinvestigatethefeasibilityoftranscanalendoscopicmyringoplastyinthehandofyoungbeginnersurgeonswhohadjustcompletedtheresidencyprogramme.Methods:Inathreeyearperiod(August2012toAugust2015),44earsin42patientswereoperateduponbyabeginnersurgeonthroughthetranscanalendoscopicapproachinasubdistrictlevelhospitallocatedinthenorthwesternrangesoftheHimalayanregion.Results:Ofthe42patient,19weremaleand23female.Themeanagewas26.23years(range:15e47years).In40ears,completeperforationclosurewasachievedatsixmonths(successrate:90.9%).ThemeanairconductionPTApreoperativelywas40.84dBHLandimprovedto28.06dBHLpostoperatively(p<.001).ThemeanABgappreoperativelywas22.40dB,whichimprovedto9.1dBpostoperatively(p<.001).Conclusion:Endoscopictranscanalmyringoplastyissafeandreliableeveninyoungbeginners'hands.Surgeonscanconsiderendoscopicapproachearlyintheircareerswithoutthefearoflearningcurve.Thecostofendoscopicequipmentisaboutonetenthascomparedtoopenapproachunderaoperatingmicroscope,andanaddedadvantage.

  • 简介:Inanimportantjudgment,theSupremeCourtofJusticeoftheNationintroducedinMexicothe“punitivedamages”,aconceptwhichbelongstothecommonlawtraditionandthereforeitisalientothecivillawculturetowhichtheMexicanLegalSystembelongs.Althoughitisaprecedentthatisnotconsolidatedwithstrongbindingeffectsandthereforeotherjudgesarenotforcedtoapplyit,thisdecisionraisestheopportunitytodiscussindepththestifflegalregimeofcivilresponsibilityinMexicotoreviewitspertinence,anditsconformitywiththeconceptof“integralrepair”oftheinternationallawsofhumanrights.Inspiteoftheobjectionsthat,withorwithoutreason,canbeformulatedagainstthatdecisionoftheSupremeCourt,theintroductionofthepunitivedamagesinMexicorepresentsagreatopportunityfortheevolutionofitslegalsystem.

  • 简介:OrderingbasedsearchmethodshaveadvantagesovergraphbasedsearchmethodsforstructurelearningofBayesiannetworksintermsontheefficiency.Withtheaimoffurtherincreasingtheaccuracyoforderingbasedsearchmethods,wefirstproposetoincreasethesearchspace,whichcanfacilitateescapingfromthelocaloptima.Wepresentoursearchoperatorswithmajorizations,whichareeasytoimplement.Experimentsshowthattheproposedalgorithmcanobtainsignificantlymoreaccurateresults.Withregardtotheproblemofthedecreaseonefficiencyduetotheincreaseofthesearchspace,wethenproposetoaddpathpriorsasconstraintsintotheswapprocess.Weanalyzethecoefficientwhichmayinfluencetheperformanceoftheproposedalgorithm,theexperimentsshowthattheconstraintscanenhancetheefficiencygreatly,whilehaslittleeffectontheaccuracy.Thefinalexperimentsshowthat,comparedtoothercompetitivemethods,theproposedalgorithmcanfindbettersolutionswhileholdinghighefficiencyatthesametimeonbothsyntheticandrealdatasets.
