简介:TheDarfurissuehasbeeninfluencingtheSino-U.S.relationshipsinceJuly2004.Thereareatleastthreereasonstosayso.Firstly,ChinaandtheU.S.disagree,bothonthenatureoftheissueandonitssolution.Secondly,ChinaandtheU.S.haveconflictinginterests,especiallytheiroilinterestsinSudanandtheAfricancontinent.Finally,U.S.domesticpoliticalforceshaveforcedtheissueontotheagendaofSino-U.S.relations.AlthoughtheissuehasbecomeanunharmoniousfactorintheSino-U.S.relationship,ithasnotdamagedthebilateralrelationstoomuch.Instead,thetwocountrieshavebeencooperatingontheissue.
