  • 简介:Trendsintoday’ssteelproductionshowincreasingdemandsforhighly-sophisticatedsteelgrades.Therefore,thesteelindustrywilleventuallyberequiredtoinstallbestperformingtechnologiestomeetgovernmentalspecificationsdesignedtosignificantlyreduceenvironmentalemissions.Sucheffortsaresupportedbyinnovativenewsolutionsintheentiresteelmakingprocess.Oneprocessthatwillneedtobeaddressedisthecleanlinessofthesteelintheliquidsteelphase,especiallyduringtheBOF-tappingprocess.Thenewconvertergate(CG)(Fig.1)bestsupportstheslidegatetappingtechnologyforconvertersintermsofcleansteel,productivity,yieldandavailability-atreducedcosts.TheCGgateintroducesauniquefeatureforconverterslidegates:Thebottomplatecanbeexchangedwhilethegateremainsmountedontheconverter.Thisnewfeatureallowsforanincreasedutilisationoftherefractorypartsandasignificantreductionofthedowntimeoftheconverter.This'designedefficiency'isachievedwitharefractorysetconsistingofthreeidenticalplates-twobottomplatesandonesliderplate-andanozzle.AnumberofotherimprovementssuchasautomaticcylindercouplingusingtheInterstopSNAPtechnologyandatwosteptensioningsystemhavealsobeenimplemented.ThenewsystemisdesignedtomeetminimalspacerequirementsandthereforewilladapttomostBOFshops.Toperformpreparation,serviceandmaintenanceworkthemodularCGgatecanbedismountedfromtheconverterandsimultaneouslyreplacedbyaready-to-useunit.Thedegreeofautomationfordismountingandmountingaswellasforoff-linepreparationhasbeenenhancedandreducesmanualefforts.Thispaperprovidesasolutiontotheobvioustrendtowardsefficientandcontrolledproductionofcleansteel,ingeneral,andespeciallyatBOFshops.Moreover,itspecificallydescribestheoperationalresultsofthisinnovativeBOFtappingequipmentatSalzgitterFlachstahlGmbH,Germany.

  • 简介:BulknanocrystallineSmCo6FesinteredmagnetwaspreparedbySparkPlasmaSinteringtechnique(SPS).XRDpatternsshowthatthemagnetexhibitsastableTbCu7structure.TEMobservationindicatesthatthemicrostructureofthemagnetiscomposedofSmCo6Fesinglephasegrainswithanaveragegrainsizeof30nm.Magneticmeasurementshowsthatunder9Tmagneticfield,thecoercivityofthemagnetreaches1.12T;thesaturationmagnetizationandtheremanenceare1.13and0.67T,respectively.Themagnethasa(BH)maxof75.6kJ·cm-3.

  • 简介:ThecompoundSm0.98Fe9.02–xGaxNδ(x=0,0.25,0.5,0.75,1)werepreparedbymelt-spunmethodandsubsequentannealingandnitriding.TheRietveldanalysisshowedthatthelatticeexpansionplayedanimportantroleinimprovingtheCurietemperature.AnobviousdevelopmentoftheCurietemperaturewasobtainedwiththeincreasedGacontentfromx=0–1(ΔTc=90oC).Theoptimumcoercivityofnitrideswasobtainedatx=0.25withthevalueHcj=652kA/m(8.15kOe)afterannealing,whichcorrespondedtoareasonabledistributionofgrainsizesofbothTbCu7-typeSmFe9Nδandα-Fe.However,anexcessofGadopingmightleadtoanabnormalgrowthofα-Fe,whichinturndeterioratedthemagneticproperties.ItwasconcludedthatamoderateGacontentwasveryeffectiveinraisingthecoercivityandCurietemperamentintheTbCu7-typeSm-Fe-N.

  • 简介:TheLa-CosubstitutedSr_(1–x)La_xFe_(12–x)Co_xO_(19)(x=0–0.5)ferriteswithappropriateBi_2O_3additivewerepreparedbyconventionalsinteringmethodandmicrowavesinteringmethodatlowsinteringtemperaturescompatiblewithLTCC(lowtemperatureco-firedceramics)systems,andtheirsinteringbehaviorwaschieflyinvestigated,includingthecrystalstructure,saturationmagnetizationMs,magneticanisotropyfieldHa,intrinsiccoercivityHci,andCurietemperatureTC.ExperimentresultsclearlyshowedthatthepureM-typecrystalphasewassuccessfullyobtainedwhentheLa-Cosubstitutionamountxdidnotexceed0.3.However,thesingleM-typephasestructuretransformedtomultiphasestructurewithfurtherincreasedx,wheretheM-typephasecoexistedwiththenon-magneticphasesuchasα-Fe_2O_3phase,La_2O_3phase,andLaCoO_3phase.AppropriateLa-CosubstitutionimprovedtheMs(〉62emu/g),Ha(〉1400kA/m),andHci(〉320kA/m)fortheferriteswithxvaryingfrom0.1to0.3,buttheTCdecreasedwithincreasingsubstitutionamount.Moreover,themicrowavesinteredferritescouldprovidelargerHciandsimilarMscomparedwiththeconventionalsinteredferrites.

  • 简介:TheeffectofrapidsolidificationonstructureandelectrochemicalperformanceoftheLaNi4.5Co0.25Al0.25hydrogenstoragealloywasinvestigatedbyX-raypowderdiffractionandasimulatedbatterytest,includingmaximumcapacity,cyclingstability,self-discharge,andhigh-ratedischargeability(HRD).Allthemelt-spunalloysweresingle-phasewiththeCaCu5-typestructure(spacegroupP6/mmm).Incomparisontotheas-castalloy,therapidlyquenchedalloysmanifestedanimprovedhomogeneityofcompositionandexpandedlatticeparameters.Theelectrochemicalmeasurementsshowedthattheactivationproperty,cyclingstabilityandself-dischargeofthealloyelectrodeswerealsoimprovedfortherapidsolidifiedalloys.TheHRDoftheas-castalloywasbetterthanthoseofalltherapidlysolidifiedalloys.Asthequenchingrateincreased,theHRDandexchangecurrentdensityfirstdecreasedandthenincreased.

  • 简介:La15Fe77B8hydrogenstoragealloyswerepreparedusingavacuuminduction-quenchingfurnace.TheresultsofX-raydiffraction(XRD)andscanningelectronmicroscopy(SEM)suggestedthatLa15–xSmxFe2Ni76Mn5B2(x=0,2,4,6)alloyshadmultiphasestructureincludingthemainLaNi5phase,La3Ni13B2phaseand(Fe,Ni)phase.WiththeincreasingsubstitutionofSmforLa,themainphasestructureofalloysdidnotchange,whiletheunitcellvolumesdecreased,thecyclestabilitywasimprovedandthemaximumdischargecapacitydecreased,butthelowtemperaturemaximumdischargecapacityofthesamesubstitutionalloywasgraduallyapproachingthemaximumdischargecapacityatroomtemperature,whichshowedthatLa15Fe77B8hydrogenstoragealloysofthepartialsubstitutionofSmforLahadbetterlow-temperaturedischargeability(LTD).Forthesamesubstitutionalloys,self-dischargecharacteristicsandcyclestabilityatlowtemperaturewerebetterthanthatatroomtemperature.Furthermore,thehigh-ratedischargeability(HRD)andtheexchangecurrentdensityI0firstincreasedandthendecreasedwiththeincreasingofSmcontent,whereasthehydrogendiffusioncoefficientDinalloybulkdecreasedgradually,whichindicatedthatappropriatesubstitutionofSmforLaimprovedtheelectrochemicalkineticspropertiesofthealloys.TheHRDwasmainlydominatedbythecharge-transferrateonthealloysurface.
