简介：Awatt-classbackwardwaveoscillatorisproposed,usingtheconcisesinewaveguideslow-wavestructurecombinedwithapencilelectronbeamtooperateat220GHz.Firstly,thedispersioncurveofthesinewaveguideiscalculated,then,theoscillationfrequencyandoperatingvoltageofthedevicearepredictedandthecircuittransmissionlossiscalculated.Finally,theparticle-in-cellsimulationmethodisusedtoforecastitsradiationperformance.Theresultsshowthatthisnovelbackwardwaveoscillatorcanproduceover1-Wcontinuouswavepoweroutputinafrequencyrangefrom210GHzto230GHz.Therefore,itwillbeconsideredasaverypromisinghigh-powermillimeter-wavetoterahertz-waveradiationsource.
