摘要 ExistingEthernetPassiveOpticalNetwork(EPON)DynamicBandwidthAllocation(DBA)algorithmssufferfromthedisadvantageofidletimeloss,whichlowertheupstreambandwidthutili-zation.Thisletterproposesanimprovedupstreamtransmissionschemewithidle-timeeliminatingmechanism.Theoreticalanalysisandnumericalcalculationprovethattheimprovedschemecanef-fectivelyeliminatetheidletimeandenhancetheefficiencyofupstreamlinkutilization.Simulationresultshaveshownthatthebandwidthutilizationcanberaisedupto15%inheavy-loadscenarioswhilethetimedelayperformanceofAssuredForwarding(AF)andBestEffort(BE)servicesareimprovedsimultaneously.
