Analyticalsolutionsfortheflexural-gravitywaveresistancesduetoalinesourcesteadilymovingonthesurfaceofaninfinitelydeepfluidareinvestigatedwithintheframeworkofthelinearpotentialtheory.Thehomogenousfluid,coveredbyathinelasticplate,isassumedtobeincompressibleandinviscid,andthemotiontobeirrotational.ThesolutioninintegralformforthewaveresistanceisobtainedbymeansoftheFouriertransformandtheexplicitlyanalyticalsolutionsarederivedwiththeaidoftheresiduetheorem.Thedispersionrelationshowsthatthereisaminimalphasespeedcmin,athresholdfortheexistenceofthewaveresistance.NowaveisgeneratedwhenthemovingspeedofthesourceVislessthancminwhilethewaveresistancesfirstlyincreasetotheirpeakvaluesandthendecreasewhenVcmin.Theeffectsoftheflexuralrigidityandtheinertiaoftheplatearestudied.
