Response simulation and theoretical calibration of a dual- induction resistivity LWD tool

摘要 Inthispaper,responsesofanewdual-inductionresistivitylogging-while-drilling(LWD)toolin3Dinhomogeneousformationmodelsaresimulatedbythevectorfiniteelementmethod(VFEM),theinfluencesoftheborehole,invadedzone,surroundingstrata,andtooleccentricityareanalyzed,andcalibrationloopparametersandcalibrationcoefficientsoftheLWDtoolarediscussed.TheresultsshowthatthetoolhasagreaterdepthofinvestigationthanthatoftheexistingelectromagneticpropagationLWDtoolsandismoresensitivetoazimuthalconductivity.Bothdeepandmediuminductionresponseshavelinearrelationshipswiththeformationconductivity,consideringoptimalcalibrationloopparametersandcalibrationcoefficients.Duetothedifferentdepthsofinvestigationandresolution,deepinductionandmediuminductionareaffecteddifferentlybytheformationmodelparameters,therebyhavingdifferentcorrectionfactors.Thesimulationresultscanprovidetheoreticalreferencesfortheresearchandinterpretationofthedual-inductionresistivityLWDtools.
