Calmodulinisacalciumbindingproteinthatmodulatestheactivityofdiversegroupsofproteinincludingsomeproteinkinase,adenylatecyclasesandATPase.HereweusethetotalDNAofSonneratiaparacaseolarisasthetemplateofthepolymerasechainreaction(PCR).ThePCRprimershavebeendesignedandsynthesizedaccordingtothe5-and3-terminaloligonucleotidesequencesofCalmodulingeneofplantsinGenbankandligatedwithcloningvectorpBsk(+).Therecombinantcloneshavebeenobtainedfromtheselectedmedium.TheresultsofDNAsequencesanalysisshowthatthenucleotidesequencesofORFsharemorethan85%homologiesascomparedwiththoseofcalmodulingenesofseveralotherplants.Similartoriceandapple,theORFisinterruptedbyanintronbehindthe75thnucleotide.
