摘要
ThewesternGangdeseinTibetduringTriassicwaspreviouslyconsideredtobeapartoftheGangdeseOldland(ZhaoZZetal.,2001;Fig.1).IftheGangdeseOldlanddidexist,itmeansnoprospectofpetroleumexplorationoftheTriassicstratainwesternGangdesearea.Fortunately,therecentbiostratigraphicprogressesdon’tsupporttheexistenceoftheGangdeseOldland.ThispaperaimstobrieflyintroducethenewpaleogeographicinterpretationandthereasonthatthewesternGangdeseintheTriassicwasmarineinsteadofterrigenousonthebasisoftherecentconodontdata.
