摘要
Weproposeanddemonstrateataperedhollowannularcorefiber(HACF)couplerforexcitationofwhisperinggallerymodes(WGMs)ofanembeddedmicrosphereresonator.ThecouplerissimplyfabricatedbyfusionsplicingofasegmentofHACFwiththesingle-modefiber(SMF),andthenimprovedbytaperingthesplicingjointtoreducethecone-apexangle.Therefore,thecouplingefficiencyfromtheSMFtotheHACFisenhancedtoexcitevariousWGMsviaevanescentfieldcoupling.Normalpositive,negativesymmetricalLorentzianandasymmetricFanolineshapescanbeobtainedbyvaryingtheresonatorsizeandlocation.AnotherinterestingphenomenonisobservedthatahigherQ-factormodeinalowerQ-factormodehasacontrastashighas58.Temperaturesensingwithgoodstabilityisalsodemonstrated.ThisembeddedWGMmicrosphereresonatorinthetaperedHACFisexpectedtopromoteenvironmentaladaptabilityinpracticalapplicationsduetoitssimplicityandrobustness.
