摘要
Vehielesenlistedwitheomputing,sensingandcommunicatingdevicescancreatevehicularnetworks,asubsetofcooperativesystemsinheterogeneousenvironments,aimingatimprovingsafetyandentertainmentintraffic.Invehicularnetworks,avehicle’sidentityisassociatedtoitsowner’sidentityasauniquelinkage.Therefore,itisofimportancetoprotectprivacyofvehiclesfrombeingpossiblytracked.Obviously,theprivacyprotectionmustbescalablebecauseofthehighmobilityandlargepopulationofvehicles.Inthiswork,wetakeanon-trivialsteptowardsprotectingprivacyofvehicles.Asprivacydrawspublicconcerns,wefirstlypresentprivacyimplicationsofoperationalchallengesfromthepublicpolicyperspective.Additionally,weenvisionvehicularnetworksasgeographicallypartitionedsubnetworks(cells).Eachsubnetworkmaintainsalistofpseudonyms.Eachpseudonymincludesthecell’sgeographicidandarandomnumberashostid.Beforestartingcommunication,vehiclesneedtorequestapseudonymondemandfrompseudonymserver.Inordertoimproveutilizationofpseudonyms,weaddressastochasticmodelwithtime-varyingarrivalanddeparturerates.Ourmaincontributionincludes:1)proposingascalableandeffectivealgorithmtoprotectprivacy;2)providinganalyticalresultsofprobability,varianceandexpectednumberofrequestsonpseudonymservers.Theempiricalresultsconfirmtheaccuracyofouranalyticalpredictions.
