摘要
InthearticletheauthorlooksbacktheharddevelopmentcourseandgreatprogressinearthquakescienceandtechnologyinChinaduringthelastnearahalfofcenturyandexpoundsthefollowing3aspects:(1)Thestrongdesireofthewholesocietytomitigateseismicdisastersandreducetheeffectofearthquakesonsocial-economicliveisagreatdrivingforcetopushforwardthedevelopmentofearthquakescienceandtechnologyinChina;(2)Tobetterensurepeople'slifeandproperty,sustainableeconomicdevelopment,andsocialstabilityisanessentialpurposetodrivethedevelopmentofearthquakescienceandtechnologyinChina;and(3)Toinsistonthedialecticalconnectionofsetupoftechnicalsystemforseismicmonitoringwiththescientificresearchofearthquakesandtobetterhandletherelationbetweencrucialtask,currentscientificlevel,andthefeasibilityaretheimportantprinciplestoadvancetheearthquakescienceandtechnologyinChina.Somesuccessandmanysetbacksinearthquakedisastermitigationconsistentlyenrichourknowledgeregardingthecomplexityoftheconditionsforearthquakeoccurrenceandtheprocessofearthquakepreparation,promotethereconstructionandmodernizationoftechnicalsystemforearthquakemonitoring,anddeepenthescientificresearchofearthquakes.Duringthelast5years,theimprovementandmodernizationoftechnicalsystemforearthquakemonitoringhaveclearlyprovidedthetechnicalsupporttostudyandpracticeofearthquakepredictionandprecaution,giveprominencetokeyproblemsandbroadenthefieldofscientificresearchofearthquakes.Thesehaveenabledustogetsomenewrecognitionoftheconditionsforearthquakeoccurrenceandprocessofearthquakepreparation,characteristicsofseismicdisaster,andmechanismforearthquakegenerationinChina'scontinent.Theprogresswehavemadenotonlyencouragesustoenhancetheeffectivenessofearthquakedisastermitigation,butalsoprovidesabasisforacceleratingfurtherdevelo
